Milwaukee PACKOUT Inserts: How to Pick the Right Insert for Your Box

PACKOUT organizers are great until everything in them slides into one corner the first time you load the truck. A custom insert gives each tool, battery, and bit its own spot, so you can see what's missing before you leave the job.

The tricky part is that PACKOUT boxes look alike but aren't the same inside. An insert made for one box won't fit the box next to it. Every product below fits Milwaukee PACKOUT storage. This guide sorts them by Milwaukee model number so you can find the one that fits what you already own.

Step 1: Find your model number

Flip the box over or check the label on the back. Milwaukee prints a model number that starts with 48-22-. That number tells you which inserts fit. Our product titles all include it, and so does this guide.

Every BAMprecision insert is 3D-printed to order here in Texas by our family shop. Most listings let you pick a primary color (usually black, white, gray, or red, with more on some items). Several also let you choose a left or right half so the insert lines up with the bins you're keeping.

48-22-8430 – PACKOUT Organizer (full size, deep)

This is the large organizer with deep bins, and it has the most insert options. Most of these are half-inserts: they take up one side of the box and leave the other side for your stock bins.

48-22-8435 – PACKOUT Compact Organizer

The Compact has the same idea in a smaller footprint, so the inserts are laid out more tightly.

48-22-8431 & 48-22-8436 – Low-Profile Organizers

The shallow organizers suit bits, sockets, and small parts that get lost in a deep bin.

48-22-8442 & 48-22-8443 – 2-Drawer and 3-Drawer Tool Boxes

Drawer units get messy fast because everything slides each time you open them. These inserts take up half a drawer, so you can combine them.

Bin add-ons that fit most PACKOUT organizers

These go inside the standard organizer bins rather than replacing them, so they work across several models.

Firearm and range inserts

We also make range-day inserts for PACKOUT boxes. There are pistol inserts for the 48-22-8431 (two pistols plus four magazines) and the 48-22-8436 (one pistol, one magazine, and ammo), in Glock, Sig Sauer, Smith & Wesson, Springfield, Taurus, Staccato, and Colt versions. There are also PMAG 30 magazine inserts and caliber-specific ammo trays. You'll find all of them in our Gun Accessories collection.

FAQ

Will an insert for one PACKOUT organizer fit another?

Usually not. The interior sizes differ between models, so always match the model number (for example, 48-22-8430 vs. 48-22-8435) in the product title to your box.

Do I have to remove the factory bins?

For half-inserts, you remove the bins on one side only. The bin add-ons (lids, magnetic bins, labels) work with your existing bins.

Can I choose the color?

Yes. Each piece is 3D-printed to order, and most listings let you pick a primary color. Some, like the socket insert and text labels, add a second color for lettering.

How long does it take?

Because every insert is made to order, it's printed after you check out. Check the product page and our Shipping Policy for current timing.

My tool or box isn't listed. Can you make one?

Reach out through our Contact page with your box model number and the tools you want to fit. We do custom layouts.
